COVID-19 Information

As of March 1, 2024, SRJC will be following the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) guidance for COVID-19 Isolation.

For People Who Test Positive
  1. Complete the SRJC COVID-19 Positive Incident Report Form.

  2. Stay home if you have COVID-19 symptoms, until you have not had a fever for 24 hours without using fever reducing medication AND other COVID-19 symptoms are mild and improving.

  3. If you do not have symptoms, you should follow the information below to reduce exposure to others.

  4. Employees report sick time using the Notice of Absence form.

*The potential infectious period is 2 days before the date of symptoms began or the positive test date (if no symptoms) through Day 10.
Day 0 is the symptom onset date or positive test date.

Vaccination

Proof of vaccination is not required in order to access district sites or participate in on-site activities. SRJC offer vaccinations and boosters to all currently enrolled students and employees without insurance and encourages everyone to take advantage of these important services.

Masking

In accordance with CDPH guidance, indoor masking is also recommended in the following cases:

  • If you have respiratory symptoms (e.g. cough, runny nose, and/or sore throat);

  • If you are at higher risk for getting very sick from COVID-19

Testing

If you have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the workplace, COVID-19 rapid tests are available at Student Health Services on the Santa Rosa campus:

Monday-Thursday from 8:30am-4:00pm, Friday 8:30am-1:00pm, and on the Petaluma campus on Mondays from 9:00am-12:00pm and Wednesdays from 9:00am-4:00pm.

    • When you return to work, you are required to mask when you are around other people indoors for the 10 days* after you become sick or test positive (if no symptoms). You may remove your mask sooner than 10 days if you have two sequential negative tests at least one day apart. Day 0 is symptom onset date or positive test date.

    • It is important you avoid contact with people at higher-risk for severe COVID-19 for 10 days*. Higher-risk individuals include the elderly, those who live in congregate care facilities, those who have immunocompromising conditions, and that put them at higher risk for serious illness.

    • Seek Treatment. If you have symptoms, particularly if you are at higher risk for severe COVID-19, speak with a healthcare provider as soon as you test positive. You may be eligible for antiviral medicines or other treatments for COVID-19. COVID-19 antiviral medicines work best if taken as soon as possible, and within 5-7 days from when symptoms start.

    • If you have respiratory symptoms (e.g. cough, runny nose, and/or sore throat);

    • If you are at higher risk for getting very sick from COVID-19.
